Chapter Twelve

“You killed it tonight, Corey,” Angel said.

Corey just grinned at him.

The week had been epic. With Queen as the theme, and covering the ever-popular “We Are the Champions,” Wildcard made it to seventh place out of a possible ten, which meant for the first time in the competition they weren’t in the bottom two and having to do the sing-off.

Angel felt like they’d won the whole of Sing UK, he was that happy not to have to go through the last-two judging. The whole band hugged backstage, and sue him if he held onto Corey a little longer than the rest. Corey seemed to be getting used to the way Toby and Scott hugged him, all gripping and backslapping, and the way DK just held him briefly. Corey had begun by tolerating the touches, but now it appeared they were allowed to touch him, albeit briefly.

Angel was right, Corey had killed it tonight, his throaty voice a deep counterpoint to the soaring vocals of the other four, and Angel felt like kissing him right there and then backstage.

He didn’t, though.

He did follow Corey into the bathrooms as the bottom two sang it out, and he pushed him up against the closed door of the first stall, kissing him like he really meant it.

Which, let’s face it, was how he kissed Corey every single time.

Corey wriggled against him. “Harder,” he murmured.

Angel realized early on that Corey liked to be held still and that his cock was like iron the minute Angel manhandled him and held him tight.

“We made it through,” Corey whispered into the kisses, as they rocked against each other.

Angel had his hands buried and twisted in Corey’s long hair, gripping hard and kissing harder. “You were gorgeous out there,” he finally said back, just as quietly. “So hot.”

Corey groaned at the words. “And you’re so pretty. I watch you, and I can’t stop looking at the way you dance, at your lips.”

“Your voice,” Angel said.

The door to the bathroom slammed open. “Angel? Corey? Time to go,” Toby called.

Smiling, they separated, opened the stall door, and went straight out to find the entire Driven Style group, who were walking in, and by their tears, had obviously been eliminated.

No one in the group seemed to see or care about Angel and Corey exiting the stall, and they skirted the five guys who made up Driven Style holding each other in a loose supportive circle.

Only outside the bathroom did it hit Angel.

That could have been Wildcard leaving tonight, and then what? DK would be crying, Scott off cursing somewhere, Toby on his way back to the pub where he could be angry and get beaten up. Angel would be off decorating rich people’s houses, and Corey would be… somewhere else. So while Angel was on the natural high of success, that achievement warred with the inevitability that one week, maybe soon, Wildcard would leave the competition.

And that didn’t bear thinking about.
